Miss Trudy Brown visited Mr. and Mrs, Bruce Haugen and Randy for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Craige Mid- dleton and family of West Hill visited with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Geer on Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs, Keith Ashton Richard and Julie were with Mr. and Mrs. H. Ashton for supper on Sunday evening, Mr. and Mrs. L. Lyons and Darlene were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Davis of Sunderland on Sunday. Recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs, Thos. Stewart were: Mr. and Mrs, Lewis Palmer, Peter- borough. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Graham of Oshawa, Mr. and Mrs. Gurth Reader of Toronto, also Mr. and Mrs. Harley Clarke of Prince Albert. Our sympathy to Mrs, F. Munro who learned one day this week of the passing of a nephew, Mr, Kenneth Maynard in British Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Geer and Brenda of Port Perry were sup- per guests with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Geer. Mr. and Mmrs. Harry Hill and family of Greenbank vis. ited Saturday evening with Mr, and Mrs. Arthur Taylor, Mr, Lloyd Payne and Denise visited Saturday evehing with Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Haughland. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Ashton and Michael were Sunday din- ner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Strong of Manchester. Mr. and Mrs, Clifford Hub- bard of Pickering were recent guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Brawn. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Simpson were supper guests with Mr, and Mrs, Earl Wilson on Monday. Mrs. Marjorie Tripp and Mrs, Jean Jeffery represented the Epsom U.C.W, at the Hospital Auxiliary meeting on Mar. 16. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Prentice of Toronto, Murray and Ross of Waterloo and their friends were all home for the week- end with Mr, and Mrs, Gor- don Prentice. On Friday evening, Mr, and Mrs, Mervin MacCannell of Whitby visited with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Prentice. The regular Euchre & Dance was held _at the Schdol Friday evening. Winners of the ladies prizes were: 1st, Rosetta Evans. 2nd, Marie Lageer. Low, Noreen Card, Gents: 1st, Albert Timms, 2nd, Carson Watson. Mrs. M. B. Dymond, when twenty-six members gathered to discuss plans for the Spring Fair to be held on May 28th. After a delicious dessert and coffee, President Mrs. Dymond offered a special prayer. asking for God's strengthening support in sacrificial self-giving and community service, Mrs. Wan- namaker read the minutes of the last meeting and Mrs. D. Crozier gave the financial re- port, announcing a balance on hand of over $1700. There is to be a Board meet- ing at the Municipal Office on March 23rd at 8 p.m. and Mrs. Frank Johnson, Mrs. S. Mum- fard and Mrs. D. Crozier will attend on behalf of the ladies. There will be a regional meeting of the Hospital Auxil- iary in Oshawa on May 17th. Mrs. Dymond will be a guest panelist to discuss the benefits of organizational help in Auxil- iary Work. Mrs. Manns reported that she had distributed 8 pairs of baby bootees since the last meeting. She has five pairs on hand, three of which were knitted by Mrs. Cyrus Garvey. Easter flowers will be given to the parents as usual. Mrs. S. Ploughman is in charge of this project and will be assisted by Mrs. Pearl Gerrow. Candy bas- kets will be distributed to the children. It was decided to leave the forfeit calendars until early in the Fall. Mrs. Cornish, Chairman of the Spring Fair Committee, announced that the organiz- ations are co-operating splen- didly and making arrangements for their various booths. The Fair will be held in the Masonic Hall, and the Masons have kind- ly decided to give back the rental fee as a donation. Tea will be served in the Parish Hall of the Presbyterian Church by Presbyterian ladies, with the probable assistance of the Ang- lican Church Women. For the benefit of the younger gener- ation, an "A GO-GO" will be held in the evening, complete with disc-jockey and approp- riate records. A photographer from the Port Perry Star, photgraphed mem- bers with a full basket of toys which will be used for the Fish- pond at the Fair. Next month PORT PERRY STAR, Thursday, March 24, 1966-13 members will collect articles for the Wishing Well. The Diminishing Teas have brought 1m over $100 to date. Mrs. Burnsell Webster and Mrs. Byron Holtby of Prospect UCW held Euchres and turned in $30.00. Mrs. T. Manns and Mrs. D. Gerrow of Head Memorial Church also held Euchres and contributed $32.00. Mis. L. Short turned in $13.50 and Mrs. John Hardy of Port Perry UCW handed in $13. Mrs. D. Crosier gave $5.00.
