On Sunday morning Mr, Paul Agnew representing the Ontario Temperance Federation gave a challenging address to the con- gregation, Mr, Agnew who is a High School teacher, is well acquainted with the social pres- sure used to influence young people toward the use of bev- erage alcohol, and spoke of the increasing number of High School students who make use of it, The Sunday evening Lenten Service will be at 7.80 p.m. Next Sunday morning the Bacrament of the Lord's Supper will be observed. Mr. and Mrs, Cliff Pearson called on relatives in Oshawa last week. Mr. and Mrs, Lubinsky visited with Mr, and Mrs. Ed, Bain over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs, Egbert Hunter of Scarboro visited with Mr. & Mrs, Neil Hunter on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs, Geo. Waddell of Bethany spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, Mel McGee. Mr, and Mrs, Howard McMil- lan visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Doug. Lunney in Whit- by. Several Rebekahs and Odd. fellows attended the breakfast hour at the I.0.0.F. hall last Sunday morning. Mr, Ford Thomson of Ottawa called on Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Baird last Monday. Mr. Rodd Foster spent several days recently on a business trip to Wilmington Delaware and Detroit Mich, Sorry to hear Mr. Will Som- erville is in Port Perry Hospital again. Mr, & Mrs. H. McMillan and Mr. & Mrs. A. McMillan were in Toronto on Monday evening on the occasion of a family birthday party for Rev. Keith McMillan. The Women's Institute served lunch at the Red Cross Blood Donors clinic in Uxbridge on Monday afernoon and evening. There were thirteen tables at the euchre party last Friday night. Bob Hynter and Jim Lee won the men's prizes and the lucky ladies were Mrs. Diamond and Mrs. Baird, Miss Eva Luke won the door prize.
