Buntain chose for his ser- mon "The Triumphal Entry", and the Junior Choir sang two selections "Hosanna" and "A Legend". On Sunday, April 10th the Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated at 11.30 a.m. All Young People are invited to the Good Friday morning breakfast at th Church at 9.80 am, The Congregation is in- vited to the special service at Hilltop Herald| A Tea Dance was held on March 26th, Our gymnatorium was 'the scene of a badminton tourna- mnt on Tuesday, March 29th. The boy's singles champion is Terry Adderly, the girl's Judy Moore. Doubles competitions will be held in the near future. The Grade Twelve Commercial class trekked to the I.B.M. fac- tory in suburban Toronto, and to the Confederation Life Insur- ance Building on Thursday, March 31st, An Easter Dance, sponsored by the Student Council, was held on the evening of April Fool's Day. Chocolate Faster eggs were dispensed left and right by "Bunny" DJ's Don Me- Caig and Dave Read. The Boy's Intramural basket- ball schedules have ended, Vie- torious in the Junior division (Grades 9 and 10) is the team of 10AC1, consisting of Bill Taylor, captain Larry McNenly, Bill Wanamaker, Russ Stephens, Brian Donnelly, Doug Hughes and Bob Smith. The Senior division was won by 13AB's boys. Report cards were this past week by Port High's students, Easter holidays will commence April 8th and termin- ate April 17th. --Dave Read Wedding LAROCQUE - FARROW In Oshawa, on Saturday af- ternoon, April 2nd, at 2 o'clock, the Fernhill Blvd., home of Mr. M. A. Mattice, Pastor of the Nassau Street Gospel Hall, was the scene of the wedding of Richard Michael Raymond La- rocque and Maybel Elaine Far- row. The groom is the third son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Larocque of R.R. 2, Port Perry and the bride is the fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Farrow of South River. The bride, who was dressed in a coral pink two piece suit with white accessories and white cor- sage, was attended by the groom's sister, Mrs. John Phil- lips of Raglan, who wore a two piece turquoise suit with white accessories and pink corsage. John Phillips was groomsman. The happy couple honey- mooned in Northern Ontario and will reside at R.R. 2, Port Perry on their return. Those present at the wedding ceremony were the groom's sis- ter, Debbie and brothers Paul and Ronald and Grant Beacock and George Kilpatrick, received | 11 a.m, Mrs. W. Downing and Miss Frances Downing of Toronto are spending a couple of weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Daw. Miss Vera Leach spent a couple of days last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon English, Woodville, Mr, and Mrs, E. Batten, of Oshawa were Tuesday visitors with Mr. and Mrs, R. Batten. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McAndless | and family of Don Mills; Mr. & Mrs. Drew Leaper, of Malton visited at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Edgar Heron on Saturday. The Easter Thank Offering of the W.M.S. was held in the church on Sunday evening, April 3rd at 7.30. The members of the C.G.I.T. presided for the Devotional period and the Junior choir sang, A film "Bright Flame", show- ing some of our missionary work in India was interesting to all. Minor Hockey Minor hockey in Port Perry is drawing to a close for another season. The house league teams are now in there final playoffs; for most of these boys it is like playing for the "Stanley Cup", so we urge all hockey fans in this area to come out and sup- port these fine young players. Playoff games are Monday and Wednesday night and Saturday morning, Monday, April the 18th will close out this hockey season. We are planning to have a "Meet the Champs' 'night, There will be four hockey games plus a broom ball game. There will also be a draw for a Westing- house Portable Television, Draw tickets are available at Jack- son Appliances or from any member of the hockey club or players. Let's all support these boys on the 18th.
