The main event of the evening was the presentation of a gift by Ralph Taylor on behalf of the group committee to Mr. & Mrs. John Jefford, 'who have been very active in Scouting and Guiding for 15 years in Port Perry. Mr, Jefford, who has been a teacher at the High School is leaving to teach at Elliot Lake. Spring Fair (Continued) Two members of Manchester U.C.W., Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Croxall, clad gaily as gypsies, conned the tea leaves of destiny and predicted fortunes with a- plomb and a professional air. Tickets for the golf clubs, donated by the Sunnybrae Golf Course and sold by the Prince Albert Service Club netted over $180.00. The lucky winner was Mr. Appleton of Brooklin and it is hoped that he will derive much pleasure from his good fortune. Dairy Princess To Be Selected At Brooklin Fair _ The Ontario County "Dairy Princess Competition will be held at the Brooklin Spring Fair on Saturday, June 4th, at 3 p.m. The contestants are attractive young ladies, between the ages of 17 and 26, who reside on dairy farms in Ontario County. Each contestant will be re- quired to present, to the public a short talk related to Ontario County. The girls will be judged on- their appearance, deportment, poise, and self expression; as well as their abiilty to assemble' and sanitize a milking machine, milk a cow, disassemble the ma- chine and clean. and store the milking utensils.
