Marie Cardingley of Toronto spent a holiday with her cousin Ruth Wilson. Carol Wilson of Toronto spent the week end at her home. . Mrs. Joe Dowson and her cousin, Mrs, Hubert: Long of Prince Albert have returned after .a very pleasant trip to the home brother in Alberta. They report wonderful crops and plenty of rain. Last week Mr. and Mrs. Needham of Cumberland, Van- couver Island with their child- ren Laura and Ricky visited their Scugog Island friends and former neighbours at the Foot. wife left B.C. and are now re- siding in Oshawa. Mrs. Earl Reader accompan- ied Mr. and Mrs. C. Charlton to the Bruce Peninsula where they took the three hour boat trip from Tobermory to Manitoulin Island. Tho' there are several lovely lakes on the island, tour- ist development seems to be quite slow. They returned by North Bay and visited the quiet 'little town of Callandar, once famous on account of the Dion- ne Quints. Their 22 room home is now vacant and the original home has been moved to a diff- erent site for exhibition but is gradually having less interest to the public as most publicity has been withdrawn in order that the family may enjoy a Il private life. Santa's Village at Bracebridge was also a point of interest on the trip. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Martyn now welcome another grand- child, Inez' third little daughter The Island teams of baseball hold great interest for the' Is- land people and they are doing very well as usual. The girls have won 10 out of 11 games Mrs M. Giroux and Miss Gir- oux of Toronto vacationing at the Davis cottage for two weeks Mr. and Mrs. R. Daniels of Whitby at their cottage at Ald- red's Beach for the week-end. ~ Mr. and Mrs. William Sand- ers and family of Toronto with Mr, and Mrs. Jeff Chapman in Uxbridge on Monday.
