SEAGRAVE NEWS The social event of this week was the farewell presentation for Mr, and Mrs, H., Eagleson, who are moving to Port Perry on Wed. Master of ceremonies for the occasion was Mr, Morley Bruce who conducted a short program consisting of piano in- strumentals by Sylvia Wana- maker and Larry Short, a hum- orous reading by Mr. Glenn Wanamaker and a duet by Mrs. Foote and her brother Mr. Bruce Hurst. After a short singsong My. and Mrs, Eagle- an address was read and gifts presented, These gifts were a table lamp, a 'clock, a bundle buggy, a kitchen stool and a swivel rocker, - . Mr. and Mrs. Eagleson both made suitable speeches thanking everyone then Rev. W. R, Tris- tram and Rev. E. McNeil each spoke and few words and all were invited to the basement for lunch, " Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. W, Tristram and Mrs. B. Hanvey from Toronto. The funeral of the late Mr. Oryille Boe was well attended by friends from Seagrave. Mr. Car! Boe of Kingston stayed a few days with his mother who plans to remain in the family home, Miss Elizabeth Nodwell got a real thrill last week by jour- neying alone by train to Mont- real for a visit with Mrs. N. Vincent. Mr. and Mrs, Herb. Payne and family who have been trailer camping in Quebec for 2 weeks have returned home, We are sorry to note that our oldest citizen Mrs, John Short (Grandma Short) is confined to her bed at the home of her daughter Mrs. Copeland. Mrs, Short is almost 96, Mr. and Mrs. S, MacFarlane entertained their only grand- child Laureen on the bcehsion of her birthday last Sunday. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Reid MacFarlane, Miss Lorna Dure and a friend from Toronto. Mr, Bob Bertrand (Al. the Second) of Oshawa has been at home for a few days helping father paint his barn, Old neighbours of the Moons, Mr. and Mrs. Cartwright of Toronto were their visitors this week-end, Mr. and Mrs, John Tobin, Mr and Mrs, Frank Tobin and Miss Maureen visited with Mr. and Mrs A.
