Squirt Champions for Ontario when they defeated Wingham in the final game 13 - 4. .They whipped Peterborough in the first" game of the tournament 23 -4, Perry.. This was the first year that the champion- ship tournament has ever been held in Port --r RICHMOND HILL WINS 0.A.S.A. Squirt Cham- pionship Tournament was held here in Port Perry on Sat. and a well coached young team from Richmond Hill walked off with the 0.A.S.A. Squirt Cham- pionship. In the first game they ae. 8 | feated Peterborough 23 to 4 as they had little trouble hitting the ball well and often. Peter- borough -appearing in the first Tournament were not as sharp as need be to come out on top. It should be noted that Peter- borough were also in their 1st year in O.A.S.A. competition, 'In the second game Wingham defeated Burlington 4 to 1 in a fine game which saw Wing- ham score all the runs in the first-inning.- Tom Lee-pitched steady ball for Wingham as he allowed six scattered hits. Rick Cornelios for Burlington gave up only six hits also but the three big hits in the first in- ning did the damage. Jeff Lockridge and Doug Leitch each had two hits for Wing- ham while Tim Parker had two for Burlington, In the final game Richmond Hill and Wingham hooked up in a good ball game which af- ter four innings was tied up at one-one. In the fifth Richmond Hill struck for five hits which turned into five runs, five more in the sixth on four hits and then two hits for two runs in the seventh put Richmond Hill well on their way to the title. 'Squirt Championship Crests. This tournament was a great success due to the fine co-op- eration of the teams, players and fans who enjoyed a pleas- ant day in Port Perry.
