i SERVICE Senior Citizens Club It is very encouraging to see our Club meetings so well at- tended; Wed, Oct. 12th we met for the business meeting, Over 60 members were there and we consider that very good for people in our age group. Shows we still are interested in doing something worthwhile and that is what we all need, young and old, so let's keep the good work up. Our meeting opened with Mrs. M. Cullen presiding. All repeated the Lord's Prayer, also sang "the 'Citizens Prayer" coniposed by one of our mem- bers. Business was discussed, after inquiries regarding the shut-ins. A social time was spent (after "The Queen") and lunch served, We. are having one business meeting a month and the 2nd Wed. will be an all afternoon entertainment instead of two business meetings a month, The Euchres are very success- ful and help us so much to give Senior Citizens outings that are planned by our bus committee. Thank you all for patronizing these Euchres. A pot luck sup- per will be held at the Hall for members this week, and a good program is being prepared (a real comic one), After all, laughter is a good tonic for us all, human in our every day living helps us all along. So you see we try to be an active Club. We have a nice cozy hall, thanks to council of Port Perry. Next meeting will be Wed., Oct. 26th at 2 pm, Sorry folks an error in time for Pot Luck Supper (6.00 p.m. instead of 6.00 p.m.) Next Euchre, Oct. 29th at Hall 8.830 p.m. Change of time clocks go back an hour Satur- day midnight. The only thing that really counts Is what's in your heart thats all. It isn't the many friends you make, Its only. the friends you keep, It isn't the you that people see; Its the real you down deep, It isn't what people say you , are, Just let them talk as they. please, ---- Its what you know you are inside What counts is what God sees.
