PORTER PASSES Bank Manager Here 7 Years "Sad news reached Port Perry last week with the untimely death of Mr. James George Porter. After a severe stroke on Tuesday night of last week at his home in- Blackwater, Mr. morial Hospital in Lindsay. He never recovered, and passed Mr. Porter, weeks earlier had retired from his position as bank manager of the Port Perry Branch of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, had so much looked forward to his retirement, and when he visited the Star office only a few days before, he looked well and fit. R. Turner who will be celebrating her 90th Birthday on October 31st. She was formerly Mabel Ham of Scugog Island and many years ago went to Mani- toba as a bride and has resided there ever since. A capacity crowd turned out for this event and Mr. and Mrs. Davidson turned over the entire admission to the new Hospital Fund.
