There were 28 ladies present, also the Rev. Mr. Rose. A most delici- ous supper was enjoyed by all. After supper the regular form of meeting was conducted by the President Mrs. J. Lawrence who welcomed one and all. Opening hymn was No. 289 and the Rev. Rose .led in devotional period. Minutes of last meeting were read and approved. Annual Re- ports were given, the Treasurer giving a most satisfactory re- port for the year. The young women of the church are to form a Junior branch of the A.C.W. They will elect their own executive 'and conduct their own meet- ings and activities, but still be a part of the regular body of "Anglican Church Women, They were able to set a date for their first meeting and the goodly showing of hands of those in- terested in joining was a wel- come sight. Rev. Rose stated that in the near fufure he hoped to estab- lish a Christian Education For- um for both parishes and would ask for a delegate from each organization of the church. This group would be a clearing house for- new ideas, publicity and provide an opportunity to co-ordinate meetings and bring together both parishes for greater opportunities of serving Christ and His Church. Mrs. Lawrence spoke of the Ecumenical service held in the Anglican Church Sunday even- ing, Jan. 22nd, she said it was a most inspiring service and a proof that all faiths could wor- ship together. The installation of officers will be held at a church service early in Feb. Mr. Rose then showel a film on work in Africa entitled "Three men - Three ways", it showed the work being done by three different missionaries in Africa and it was gnjosed by all present. Mrs. Brian Hamilton proposed a vote of thanks, on behalf of the young women present, for the lovely supper. Mrs. Ivy Hamilton gave a vote of thanks to Mr. Rose for the showing of the film. County Holstein Club Has Extensive The annual meeting of the Ontario County Holstein Club was held in the Township Hall, Manchester, on Saturday, Janu- ary 28th, 1967, with 70 Holstein Breeders in attendance. President, John Leask, "open- ed the meeting at 11.00 am. In his opening address Mr. Leask gave a detailed summary of the projects carried out by the club in 1966. Mr. Mervyn McQuarrie, Sire Analyst, Central Ontario Cattle Breeding Association, Maple, Ontario, was the guest speaker. He gave an interesting talk. He stated that Contemporary Com- parison is the most accurate method, that is available at the present time, to compare bulls on their ability to transmit milking qualities to their daugh- ters. Mr. McQuarrie was introduc- ed to the meeting by Mr. Gerry Nelson, and was thanked, on be- half of the meeting, for his very splendid and informative address by- Neil Raines. The various projects carried out during the year were dis- cussed ,and it was decided to sponsor the following projects in 1967-- 1. Bus Trip to Expo 2. Barn Meeting Plans For '67 . Annual Banquet 4. Improvements to Black & White Show Ring Mr. Gerry Nelson, Fieldman for the Holstein-Friesian Asso- ciation, gave a detailed report on his work during 1966. He congratulated the exhibitors from Ontario County. on their splendid success in the show ring at the Championship Show, Peterborough, and at the Royal Winter Fair. He announced the winners of 58 Long Time Pro- duction Certificates by 26 Ont- ario County Breeders, and 19 Star Brood Cow rtificates by 8 Ontario County Bréeders.' Mrs. Lee with the help of Susan Bienia and Barbara Timms demonstrat- ed the Blueberry Buckle with Lemon Sauce and Succotash. Mrs. Couperthwaite discussed the objectives of the project, discussed the record books and files and a brief history of Early Canada. After testing the results of our cooking we clos- ed with the 4-H motto. on Jan. 30th at Mrs. Lee's home with the 4-H Pledge followed by the minutes read by Marion Couperthwaite. Then the Roll Call was answered by naming a Canadian Food used by early settlers. It was decided to call our Club' nial Pioneers" and we chose white for our covers with blue printing.
