Port Perry celebrate Canada's "Staff Photo Danny Reesor Guest Speaker At Father & Son Banquet 'BOY SCOUTS The first of the annual Father and Son Banquets was held at the Scout Hall on Saturday evening. : This Banquet was for the A & B Cub Packs and both packs were in almost 100% attend- ance. The * festivities opend with Cub Larry Reesor performing 'Flag Break. "After the singing of the National Anthem, Chair- man Walter E. Mulholland pro posed a toast to the Queen. The Grace was asked by Rev. R. C. Rose of the Church of the Ascension, and dinner was ser- ved. Chairman Mulholland welcom- ed all present and thanked the 'Scout Mothers for preparing & serving the delicious "dinner|- under the direction of Mrs. Margaret Michie, President of the Scout Mothers. - The evening ended with some skits and entertainment up- stairs, put on by the Cubs un- der the supervision of the lead- ers. : Ge The next Banquet is on Feb- ruary-18th and is for "C" Pack, to be headed by Ellsworth Ken- nedy and on the following Sat- urday, February 25th, the Ban- .quet for Scouts and Rovers will be held, under the chairman: =~ ship. of Mr. Ir Qahy Nal Nelson, | Manchester U.C.W. The February meeting of the: U.C.W. was held at the home of Mrs. Theo. Stevens, with twenty members present. A new mem- - MUSTANG The Chairman also thanked his Committee for helping in the sale of tickets, setting up tables, etc. The Committee consisted of Hans Kraupa, Sec- retary of the Committee; Bud Sonley and Ralph Taylor, mem: bers of the Group Committee. Fred Fraser, Assistant Cub Master of "A" Pack and Char- les Reesor, Cub Master of "B" Pack. Introduction of the head table by Group Committee Chairman Mulholland included Rev. R. 'C. Rose, Mr. and Mrs. George Fellows, Cubmaster of "A" Pack; Mr. and Mrs. Danny Reesor, Guest Speaker; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Reesor, Cub Mas- ter "B" Pack and Larry Reesor sitting with his father. Both Cub Masters made brief remarks and introduced their assistants and leaders. Cub Ted Willis gave the Toast to the Fathers, and his toast was responded to by his father, Bruce Willis. The Cubs, led by Charlie Reesor, sang the "Peaiiut" song for the entertainment of the fathers. The Guest Speaker, Dannv Reesor was introduced by his father, and gave a thought vro- voking address about the duties and responsibilities of adults & youths. The Chairman thanked Dannv for all present, and asked Rev. Rose for a few remarks prior to leading in the closing hene- diction. 'ber was welcomed, Mrs. J. Kingstone who has moved to our village recently. Mrs. Ruby Peyton had charge: of the meeting, opening with the hymn "What a friend we have in Jesus", followed by a reading.' It was decided to have a val: entine tea and bake sale on Friday, Feb. 17 at 2.30 o'clock. The Secretary Mrs. Herbert Toombs read the minutes of the last meeting. Mrs, Fred Lamb gave the treasurer's report. We will help again this year with the Spring Fair sponsored by the Women's Hospital Auxiliary.
