é (Too late for last week) Over one hundred from our community attended the benefit Turkey Dinner in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church Oshawa on Saturday evening, April 15th with all proceeds for the Build- ing Fund of our Church. Mrs. Wm. Hopkins was host- ess for the meeting of the La- dies Bible Class on Wednesday evening, April 12th with an at- tendance of twenty-five. Mr. W. Davis and Mrs. John Hopkins were in charge of the program and each gave a short account of the life of some of our famous hymn writers. ASHBURN NEWS Burn's Fellowship group met in the Centennial Centre on Sunday evening, April 16th when Mr. LeRoy Soper, of Stouffville was present and de- livered an inspiring message. Mr. Soper also sang three sac- red numbers for us and Miss Judy Batten favoured with a piano selection. Mr. K. Sparks recently re- turned to the home of Mr. John Miller, after spending four months with her son in Carls- bad, New Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Heron were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. W., McAndless, at Don Mills. Miss E. Gostick, of Green River, spent the week-end with Monday, April 24th at 8 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hopkins. PORT PERRY STAR -- Thursday, April 27th, 1967 - 5 Manchester News Mrs. J. Dobson visited her sis- ter in Hospital in Toronto on Saturday. Those attending church on Mrs. M. Innes, a one time re- sident of Manchester, passed away at the Eade Nursing Home on Saturday, April 22nd. Mrs. Innes made many friends while in business here and was re- vered by all who knew her. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones. The U.C.W. will meet at the home of Mrs. Lorne Thompson, Port Perry on Thursday after- noon, May 4th at 2 o'clock. 1 Sunday morning enjoyed the fine sermon, also the number vited.
