A suggested plan for enlarg- ing the United Church was pos- ted by the door of the Church on Sunday and by the attend- ance at the Morning Service it time for making more accommodation. Sunday was the Sunday School Anniversary. Rev, D. R. Miller of Marmora United Church and formerly a minister of The Presbyterian Church of Jam- aica, was guest speaker. In the morning he told an interesting story to the children and young _ people of "The Sea and Ships" Telling of the Captain, Charts, Compass, Purpose and Anchor, and relating to our lives. His sermon to older folk was on "The Church" taking as his text Col. 4---15, and stressing the importance of attendance at Church. The Sunday School Choir of over 70 children and juniors rendered three fine numbers. This Choir was trained by Harold and David Kyte and Richard Holden with Mrs, L. Thompson organist. The evening service was very well attended. Rev. Miller gave an impressive sermon on "Why I Am A Christian" with text from I. Peter 4:15 -- Be ready to give a reason for the hope that is in you. Miss Vivian Sadler of Bow- manville and a former member of Blackstock choir rendered in her usual fine manner -- two lovely solos -- "Hold Thou My Hand" and "How Great Thou Art", There wil be no Service or Sunday School in the United next Sunday. Thus offering the privilege of attending Nestleton Anniversary Service at 11 am. In St. John's Church on Sun- day morning, Rev. R. C. Rose delivered a splendid sermon on conversion.
