An address was read and many useful gifts presented, for which the young couple thanked everyone ,then lunch was served in the basement. Another shower for the same bride-to-be was held on Sat. evening at the home of a neighbour Mrs. David Lee. The Short families have again suffered bereavement in the death on Friday even- ing of Mrs. Henry Copeland of Oakwood. Mrs. Copeland had been in failing health for some time but passed away rather suddenly at the end. Her husband pre - deceased het by only about one month. We offer sympathy to her brother Heywood and other relatives. One of our oldest citizens Mr. Leon Standish is having a rest. in hospital just now suffering from a tired heart. At the first of the month Mr. Fred Balling's youngest brother with his wife arrived from Germany for their first visit to Canada and of course are spending come time with the Ballings and Mr. and Mrs. Zolitz. Some two months ago Mr. Andre Mosotovitch secured gainful employment in Ham- ilton, Ont. This week their property on the 12th-conces- sion has been sold so Mrs. Mosotovitch will be poining her husband in Hamilton soon. Notice to church attenders --Religious holidays do not begin until August. Mr. Ed McCaig of Greenbank was in charge of the Sunday service -and had a worth-while mess: age but there was a small congregation. Jimmy Hallett, the young soloist at S.S. charmed all 73 attenders with his singing. And how he loves to sing! The birthday box received 5c., the offering of a tiny girl, Coleen Watts. One very unusual feature this week was that both church and S.S. finished on time. Next week there will be the usual services at the usual hours. The speaker?
