DEI RAL 10 - PORT PERRY STAR - Thursday, Sept. 28th, 1967 Prince Alb Celebrate Anniversary One sunny day in Septem- ber a happy and unique occ- asion took place when a couple in our village, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gibson cel- ebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary in the form of an "At Home", held in the flowery setting of the spacious parlors of Prince Albert United Church. The bride was charming in a light blue dress, bead yoke, touched off by a dainty corsage of sweetheart roses. The groom wore the white bouttonniere. Their son Ronald and wife Marilyn Gibson were period- ically in charge of the guest book. The guests of honour, the "Gibsons" were extended best wishes from a flow of relatives, friends and neigh- bours from near and far. Special - chosen--relatives|- who poured tea included the bride's mother, Mrs. L. Sar-, gantson, bride's sister, Mrs. L. Faux 'groom's sister, Mrs. ert Couple E. Barndhart, Mrs. M. How- sam and friends, Mrs. C. Ingleton and Mrs. Lunney, who presided at a table grac: ed with a white linen cloth centred with silver candles and three-tier wedding cake. Afternoon and evening the following close friends serv- ed, Mrs. J. Forster, Mrs. G. Lehmann, Mrs. I. Parkinson, Mrs. R. Broomer, Mrs. L. Beacock, Mrs. M. Pugh, Mrs, G. Gibson, Mrs. R. Kerry and T. Pelletier. The happy couple were the recipients of a wonder- ful array of useful and beau- tiful gifts. greeting cards which all were displayed and admired by all. The Gibsons were also very happy to have their three lovely grandchildren present. Jr Guests called from Toron- to, Oshawa, Haggersville, Burlington, Orillia, Bethany, At Church on Sunday our minister, Rev. Alec Rice presided over -the christen- ing of David Allen, baby son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Chamb- ers. Next Sunday, S.S. at one p.m. and worship at 2 p.m, In spite of pouring rain fifteen _ ventured forth to attend the UCW meeting at the home of Mrs. Ben Smith, We were pleased to have three visitors, Mrs. Fowler, Mrs. S. Rodman and Mrs. E. Mulvey with us. Owing to the absence of the president, and first vice, Mrs. Snelgrove chaired the meeting. Mrs. Smith reported 22 visits made. Mrs. M. Pugh gave an interesting portion of the Study Book following devotion. Secretary, Mrs. W. Heayn read previous minutes in- cluding receiving a healthy cheque from Mr. and Mrs. F. At present time the Oylers are holiday ing in Vanvouver. Mrs. B. Snelgrove and our local quartette, namely Messers. H. Goulding, G. Hunter, B. Snelgrove and C. Willis assisted at Seagrave diamond anniversary church service on Sunday. Belated birthday greetings to Miss Annie Shunk and Mr. F. Vickery. Deeth to locate suitable tal- ent following old-time supp- er. Turkey supper committee met at the home of Mrs, Beacock for one hour rec- ently, finally all decided to withdraw this project for this year owning to various logical reasons. A bale is again being packed, any articles apprec- iate being left with members or in a box in the church basement. Keep in mind our bazaar on November 8th. The usual cup o' tea ended a pleasant meeting. Congratulations and the best is wished two pair of newly weds, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Snelgrove (nee Tay- lor) and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Beacock (nee Rodd). The two couples were recently married in the Greenbank church. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Martyn and family have returned from a worthwhile trip to Expo. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gibson attended the baptism service of their new granddaughter, Barbara Ellen, infant of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Gibson, among Commerce financing and bank services Aire Ge helped this farmer buy a new pick-up truck.
