A motion was passed approv- ing the said petition for D.H.O. subsidy. At approx. 10 a.m. Russell Honey, M.P.,, Mr. Laurie, re- presentative of the Postal Dept. and Mr. H. Couch of the Dept.. of Public Works were presented to Council, and the subject of 'location of the new Post Office' was discussed. The Council, of- fered a site location on mu- nicipal property, between the facilities could be mutually and jointly used at some time in the future for a new mu- nicipal building. Council were not unanimous in this. Councillor Wright stated that the Trewin property was the right location for a Post Office and also that a new municipal office was not needed. The Reeve advised that the prime interest in the loca- tion of the Post Office was that the- building would be large enough and in a suit- able location to dispatch rural mail in the early fu- ture.
