Her essay, "Our Community Cen- tennial Project", entered in the Ethel Brant Monture Essay Competition took first prize at the Port Perry Fair. The essay was then entered for District competition and has taken 1st prize in this District which comprises the counties of Ontario, Durham, Victoria and Peterborough. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Ma- haffv were in Chatham re- cently to attend the official opening of the Master Feed Store. The Manager of the new store is Mr. Ray Trudel a one time employee of Mas- ter Feeds, Port Perry. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wallace visited with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence McKinnon and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Roach of Detroit on the week-end. Brad Bradford, Pete Butt, Ken Goreski, Ken Murray, Art Panabaker, Art VanCamp and Joe Draper all one year. The annual Ladies Night will be held at Club Annrene Saturday, Dec. 9th, for mem: Mr. Cornish received a Charter Monarch Cer: Old Monarch Certificate for bers of the Club and invited friends. The Lions Bonspiel will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, also for members and friends. Dr. M. B. This is a challenging un: dertaking for a relatively small community. The esti- mated cost for the project is $1,075,342. Of this, the Pro: vince, through Ontario Hospi- tal Services Commission will provide $716,894 of 662'3 per cent of the cost of the approved project.
