On Saturday .night they travelled to Newcastle where the Lumbermen out scored them by a 5-2 count. Dale McNenly and Mert McKee picked up Ports two tallies. Uxbridge Blackhawks were the visitors to Port Perry on Tuesday evening and after dropping a 4-3 decision last week in Uxbridge to the Flamingos the Hawks were out for revenge and revenge they got, wholloping the Flamingos 12-1. Uxbridge were in command throughout the game al- Flamingos In 6th Place though the locals had numer- ous near misses. Uxbridge led 2-0 in the first, picked up four more in the second for a6-0 lead be- fore John McMillan picked up Ports lone tally early in the third. The Hawks were quick to jump back on the bandwagon and picked up six more tall- ies before the final whistle. Gaylord Powless was the big gun for the Hawks, pick- ing up the hat trick. Art Rennick and Bob Tripp had two each while Foote, Red- shaw, Smith, Flynn and Todd picked up singles. The Flamingos next home game will be on Boxing Day when Whitby Mel-Rons will be the visitors. Mustangs Lose To Stouffville Cy Wilsons Mustangs showed a complete reversal of form over their last game in Stouffville last Thursday night . when they lost to the local club by two goals. Playing with only two com- plete lines they outplayed, and outskated the highly rat- ed Stouffville team for 52 minutes of the game only to lose it when their legs gavc out in the last eight minut=s. Saturday in Whitby Arena the lads were defeated 5-3 in a game which Port could have won except for a litile tough luck and some bad calle. McCartney had 2 and Bronson one. The Novice came up with two impressive viotories beat- ing Pickering 3-2 on Friday and Markham 3-1 on Satur- day. It was a good clean hoc- It wa sa good clean hoc- key game with lots of action with both teams skating both ways. Port Perry opened the scor- ing 15 seconds after the puck was dropped. Ken Irvine got 'the faceoff, passed to Glenn Geer who took it over the blue line, fed a pass back to Irvine who put it home. Ux- bridge tied it up at 1.45 of the first but Mustangs came back with ra goal by Glen Sweetman assisted by Ron Jeffery. The third period saw Ux- bridge come out skating in an effort to get back in the game but they were thwarted by the outstanding goal tend- ing of Dale Crawford who made saves twice on breaka- ways. Uxbridge completed the scoring with one goal in the third period.
