On Tues. evening "Grace" U.C.W. had their Mystery Sister dinner with the "Head" ladies catering to them. About 35 ladies sat down to a beef dinner and then spent a social evening in a varied program and exchange of gifts. The ladies were pleas- ed to express thanks to the program committee, Mrs. Joan Aldred and Mrs. Sylvia Brown. All regretted that Mrs. Florence Fralick and Mrs. Myrtle Thomas were not able to attend on account of their illness. However we are glad to report that both ladies are recuperating tho' perhaps not so speedily as we could wish. It was decided to hold a euchre at "Grace" church on Dec. 27th' Please note the new Exe- cutive for "Grace" 1T.C.W.: President--Mrs. Eliza Fra- lick; 1st Vice-pres.--Mrs. Dor- othy Jeffrey; 2nd Vice-pres. --Mrs. Joan Aldred; Record- ing Sec'y -- Mrs. Marjorie Aldred; Treasurer -- Mrs. Heidi Krieg; Cor.-Sec'v--MTrs. Thurs. evening 24 ladies met at the home of Mrs. Clara Dowson for the "Head" U.CW. We were pleased to welcome Mrs. Leo Blueman and Mrs. Pallant from Pow: ell"s beach. Of course the theme was Christmas. The Devotional period included the singing of 2 Christmas Carols, a Christmas praver, the Christmas story from St. Luke and a story entitled the Fourth Wise Man read by Mrs. Bervl Pearce. For the roll call each lady read a sentence of informa- tion about the Holly Tree. Notes or words of apvre- ciation for the receiving of cards or gifts were heard from. During the buciness period it was decided to send $25. to the Scott Mission and after Christmas to pack a bale for Interior Decorating Service Custom Made Slip Covers CO-OP TOPICS by Don Rixon 6; ¥ ES I [+ £ J J 0 IS abl Uxbridge 852-3321 ; | Another year has rolled by and we are 1: flapproaching the Christmas holidays. While Mrs. Myrtle Manns' group was preparing a Christmas dessert lunch. Mrs. Marilyn Tripp asked . everyone to write a telegram starting the words in order with the let- ters used in "Christmas", It was decided that Mrs. Grace Love had composed the most interesting one. This year the "Grace" Sun- dav School decided to put on a Christmas Concert with the children taking part in order to get new dividirig curtains for the Sunday School. After many hours of practice, planning, making costumes & stage preparation by dozens of people the rewards came last night when "Grace" church was filled to capacity. There were many happy and later tired children who had a saticfactory feeling of ac- complishment and plaving a vital part in the needs of their S. S. when $61. were received in a voluntary offer- ing for their project. The program consisted of music, song, dialogues, recitations, acrostics and pantomine all done in appropriate settings. Names noted on the pro- grams were: Ryan, Edna, Bonnie & Bob, Daphne, Ma- deline, Linda Samells, Jim Aldred, Redman 4, Irene, Rick Taylor, Janet Reader, Michael Freeman, Hi.C, Tim Ashbridge and Melodie Ap- pleton, Bev. Manns, Ethel, Clara Krieg, Monita. We'll leave you to guess the last names not mentioned. Mr. Geo. makes a splendid M.C. Santa Claus even found time from his busy schedule to arrive in time to distribute treats to all the children. The back- ground, winter scene painted by Mrs. Edna Beckett, Mrs. Edna McLaren, Mrs. Ethel Freeman and Mrs. Josie Moore, added the perfect touch and many compliments were directed at it. For a production like this there are many names. of 'people behind the scenes who .are not in print. but thev de- serve credit and appreciation .too and we eventually find out who they are.
