While on this trip she visit- ed Jack Miner's Bird Sanctu- ary where over 1,000 geese had gathered. However, within two weeks 60.000 geese are expected to arrive, she was told. Weather was warm and sunny. Mrs. Arnold Roach, em- ployee of the Port Perry Star was rushed to the Com- munity Memorial Hospital on Tuesday morning. After a successful appendicitis opera- tion in the afternoon, Mrs. Roach is resting well in the hospital. Manchester U.CW. The October meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Al- vin Bruce, with an attend- ance of seventeen members and two visitors. The meet- ing opened by singing hymn 168 "Take time to be holy". The scripture lesson was read by Mrs. James Mitchell. Mrs. Bruce read three lovely poems "Open your ears to God", "Unexpected Guest", & "Record Book. Our hostess also read a letter, received from a missionary friend in "Biafra". Telling us of the suffering and slaughter of women and children in the streets. The missionary said the . natives are turning to God more than ever before. The last hymn 156 "O Mas- ter let me walk with Thee" was sung. Project for Nov. 2nd is catering to the fif- tieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Mitchell. Rev. Mr. Teskey closed the meeting with prayer The hostess served a delicious luncheon.
