Bn et Mr. and Mrs. Elwood -Mas- ters were recently honoured at a reception at Myrtle Unit- ed Church, on the occasion of their 50th Wedding Anni- versary. The honored couple was married in Peterborough, September 12, 1918 and re- sided in Pontypool until - 1933, when they moved to Myrtle Station. They have two daughters, Mrs. William Lynde (Vera) Oshawa; - and Mrs. Hervey Painter (Olive), Port Perry, . Celebrate 50th Anniversary 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Masters was employed with H. H. Goode and Son until his retirement three years ago. , The table was centered with a three-tier cake, flank- ed with gold candles. Four Grandsons attended the guest book and serving were the granddaughters. The couple was presented 'with a gift of money from the community, also gifts from family and friends. On behalf of the grandchildren, Kevin Painter presented his grandparents with fifty gold- en roses. Among the honoured guests were Mayor Desmond New- man, Whitby and Mr. and Mrs. Reg. Mitchell of Guelph who attended the bride and bridegroom fifty years ago. Out of town guests attended from Whitby, Oshawa, Port Perry, - Brooklin, Guelph, Pontypool, Bethany, Peter- borough, Toronto and Bow- manville.
