It was a bright and frosty aftemoon, free from hazardous driving conditions, when the home of Mr. & Mrs. Thos. Redman was opened to wel- come a restricted number of old friends to visit with the happy couple and their family. Mrs. Redman, formerly Ethel Jones, came from Bath, England in 1917 to thehome of her sister, Mrs. Fry, in Oshawa. their younger bro- ther, Reg. also came to Canada. A year later she met and married Thos. Red- man and they have always made their home 'on the pioneer farm at the "Head". The marriage was blessed with 3 children; Clifford who took over the farm, Irene, Mrs. Allan Carter, on a Scugog Farm and Allan also living at the "Head". The Redmans have six grandchildren; John, David, Tommy and Tanya Redman, Karen and Ross it Carter, all _of whom:-have a close contact. ------During-the-years Mrs. Red- man has been very active and helpful in music circles and has a poetic talent. Their home was always open for community needs. Tho' of a quiet nature Mr. Redman has led a respected, joyful and influential life, Tho' Mr. Redman has perhaps seen more Scugog he has responded very well to medication and enjoys his life as much as possible. The esteem of the family ~~ and friends was shown on Sunday when over 50 guests we arrived at various times. C.W.L News The C.W.L. held their December Meeting in the Catholic Community Hall There was a short business meeting followed by a Pot Luck 'Supper. A collection was taken to take care of expenses for shutins and Mental Health Patients. A motion was madé to give a donation to the Retarded School 'on the Island. Mrs. Geer thanked the C.W.L. for their help at the Investiture and Presentation of Awards Service at the Church. A skit was presented by the executive. Santa Claus came and distributed the presents under the tree. On Dec. 8th a very im- pressive Ceremony took place when Father Lee presented the Crosses and Sashes to the Altar Boys.
