Joe Fowler was cognizing his many years be- ing associated with Minor Hockey in Port Perry & Pee Wee Hockey players in par- ticular, and thus we have the 'Joe Fowler Award" to the pee wee player showing the most ability and sports- manship to be awarded each year at this tournament. A group of 4 men using a point system picked the player from the 8 teams competing in the first 4 games and you will see what a very good choice they made as thé play- er they picked turned out to be on the Championship team and scored 2 of the 4 goals for his team in the final game. 1st game Brooklin squeez- éd by Port Perry 2 - 1. Stouffville trimmed Port Hope 6-1, (In this game a boy of Novice age playing Pee Wee for Stouffville scor. ed 3 goals). .- » staged a real battle which went into sudden death over- * time. Markham got the win- ner in 7 seconds of the over time. They also checked the Uxbridge star player Newton "very closely in this game. In consolation semi - final play, Port Perry and Port Hope tied 2-2 but in the 5 min, over time Port Hope won by having had the more shots on goal. Championship semi final, Stouffville & Brooklin tied 1-1 and after 5 min. over- time were still tied but Stouffville won the game by shots on goal 2-1. In the other consolation semi-final Uxbridge 6, Ajax 3. Ajax could not hold Tom Newton who scored 5 of 6 goals for Uxbridge. Malton came on strong to defeat a strong Markham team 2-1 for the right to enter into the championship finals. Uxbridge won the Consola- tion Trophy by defeating Port Hope 6 - 0. In the championship game Stouffville won by a score of 40 over a battling Malton Pee Wee team. : In this game Doug Feasby of Stouffville who had al- ready been picked and a- warded the Joe Fowler tro- phy as the outstanding and most _sportsmanlike player proved the judges were right by scoring -2 goals for his team in this game. - Doug's only comment was when ask- ed about winning this award was, "I just can't believe it". And so the 2nd annual Pee Wee Tournament is History and we now look forward to the Bantam Tournament on March 1st.
