Following the first hymn Mrs. F. Harris read the minutes including a thank you note from - Mrs. Stella Heayn. A note of recognition from Port Perry Hospital Auxiliary for donation - received. Also a note of apprecia- tion plus a gift of money from relatives of the late Miss Edith Brooks. Mrs. C. Graham voiced she had mailed several cards to the sick and bereaved. Mrs. R. Deeth as trea- surer reported amount cleared® from MacLeod *- Hunter wedding reception, also stated an encourag- ing bank balance. Social Convenor Mrs. B. Smith announced the re- sults-of a committee meet- ing concerning the Heayn- Buxcey forthcoming wed- ding reception. Mrs. Mildred Hope re-: lated 3 oz. of used stamps' had been turned in and been mailed to destination. It was learned a birth- day gift and a Valentine had been sent to our ad- --opted-boy Joseph_Braden.- Apparently the supply of flatware and serving bowls were limited there- fore permission was grant- ed to purchase an ade- quate quantity of each. An appetizing lunch was provided by Mrs. Mil- dred Hope, Mrs. C. Newn- ham and Mrs. F. Harris. Saturday night Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Newnham and son Gary attended the an- nual Coulter Plant party of Oshawa. During the evening Cecil was highly honoured in being presented with a beautiful leather billfold containing a handsome sum of cash for his twenty six years of faithful ser- We all offer our hearty "Congratulations" to you Cec. and may you enjoy your future years of | retirement. During the week-end Mr. & Mrs. Allen Martyn and son Jim attended the annual colorful "College Royal" at the Agricultur- al School of Technology at Kemptville where their daughter Jo-anne is en- rolled as a student. They alos visited at -Mrs. Mar- tyn's brothers Mr. & Mrs. Offering gathered. Ted Denny and family of Ottawa. Nine tables of euchre were in play at the last round of cards held in the community hall. Also called 'on her broth- er who is a patient in St. Michel's Hospital Toronto. Mrs. M. Huntley spent three days with relatives in Toronto last week. Mr. and Mrs. L. Beacock were Sunday company with their cousin Mrs. C. Hill, Blackstock. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Rice and child, Toronto spent Sunday with Rev. & Mrs. A. Rice. We welcome Mr, & Mrs. Siebarth and family of Scugog Island to our vill- age having moved into her grandparents home the late Mr. and Mrs, J Davidson, Sr. The best of everything to our newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. T..
