This time they are for Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Johnston who were married in Melville United Church on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Belair accom- panied Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylor of Scugog to the wed- ding. The regular meeting of i U.C.W. was held in the £8 room on Wednesday, Marek 12, with Unit 1 in charge and Mrs. McNeil leading the de- votional program. After the opening hymn, Mrs. Tobin offered prayer then we had something different, a gent- leman singer. He was Mr. Bruce Hurst who sang two fine solos, "There's a voice in the wilderness" and Abide with us." He brought along, Dual his gentleman accom- panist, so wasn't all alone. The scripture lesson wa- read by Bruce's mother, Mrs. N. Hurst and Mrs. Critch gave a thoughful topic en- titled "Lent, a favoured Sea- son." Because of her home duties, Mrs. Critch cannot often be with us but is we!- FA A ELECTRICAL Seagrave come at any time. There were only 17 mem- bers present but visitors upped the attendance to 25. We had the usual reports and thank-you notes, and a report of the executive meeting planning the Fellowship din- ner. Mrs. Nicholls gave a de- tailed report for the carpet 'committee. The = estimates were passd back to th stew- ards to discuss. (The stew- ards are busy at it and plan a meeting for Wednesday night.) The women agreed to cat- er to a wedding in May and the Spring Bonnet tea was given another run over then it was time for lunch. Mrs. M. Stone returned to her home last week after be- ing away since August with a hip injury. She is able to hobble around now and we hope there will be no more falls, "Mr. and Mrs, Carl Boe and sons of Kingston were with Mrs. Reta Boe over the week- end.
