Rev. R.C. Rudd, preached in Blackstock United Church duly 13. In _reviewing the work, he said literacy in the world has made a far greater demand for the Bible. Man is now more influenced by what he reads than ever before. The Bible is sold and distributed in over 70 languages in Can- ada, and 1000 in other parts of the world. The cost of translating and printing have risen tremend- ously and to continue their goal "The Bible in évery man's tongue' is far from reached. Cartwright _contribution _ in 1968 was $481.00. The larg- est ever. Perhaps most of us could double our contribution in this worthy cause. The Bible precepts are still man's best protection. Be as generous as you can when the Canvasser calls in August. Cartwright Secretary -- Earl Dorrell. PORT PERRY.
