Councillor Hugh O'Connor moved that Reeve Gordon _ Hanna and Deputy Reeve Robert Attersley take a resol- ution from Reach Township to the county council. The resolution from Reach said in part, _ "the Whitby Council . . . should petition the County Council to extend the County Road north of Ashburn for two concessions; this would help both munic- ipalities and not put the traffic all in one area." . Monday Whitby council heard arguments from rate- payers in Ashburn and truck- ers using the road to haul gravel, ; The ratepayers argued that the trucks are creating noise ruining the road and creating a safety hazard. The truckers said that the Ashburn Road is the shortest route to the * gravel pits and no other alter- nate routes are in good enough condition to handle the trucks. ny or 44 Oa EE o £1¢ y : NEAT, y FARE 1 i rs BRE.
