DECEMBER A film crew from the Edu- cational Television Branch of Ontario Department of Edu- cation produced a film at Epsom Public School. Most of -the- children took part in the filming, but the "stars" were Robbie Croxall, son of Mr. & Mrs. Ted Crox- all and Tina Ruhl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Ruhl, The film is titled "The Children on the Land" and is the first in a series of films titled cent". Shooting of the film went on during an entire week in December, during re- cess, in the school rooms and at the homes of the children playing the main parts. One of the most costly fires in Port Perry occured on October 10th, when Peels Poultry Farm's breeder house was completely destroyed by fire, . Firemen from both Port Perry and Uxbridge fought the fire, but the fire advan- ced too fast to save any part of the building. Instead, the firemen directed hoses on nearby buildings to save them from the spreading flames. The most senseless and destructive Hallowe'en to occur in Port Perry was staged this year. Large win- dows were smashed in busi- ness establishments, billboard in front of Post Office was toppled over and completely destroyed.
