G - PORT PERRY STAR -- Thursday, April 23, 1970 Seagrave News Last week was comparativ- ely quiet for most of the folks. All we have to report "is a wig party and a euchre. Mrs. Len Somerville was hostess to some neighbours and friends on Tuesday night for the wig demonstration. Len was away at work so missed getting his wig. The Friday evening euchre was the final one for the sea- son. The really lucky players were Mrs. Venner and John Tobin, the net-so-luck, Mrs. Gladys Short and Jack Short. Our sick aren't improving very quickly, Mrs. Pearson has been moved to Oshawa hospital for further treat- ment. Bob Nodwell is still hoping to get home soon and Neil McMillan goes to Toron- to on Thursday for more tests. Week-end visitors at the Nodwell home and with Bob at the hospital were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hilbert and sons of Avoid Being Hamilton. On Monday, Mr. Disappointed and Mrs. Earle Sullivan of Book Your Toronto called. Wedding Now Last week Mr. and Mrs. Venner had a happy re-union when their son, Inspector Tom Venner of the R.C.M.P. in Edmonton visited with them for a couple of days while en route to Ottawa. Their daughter, Mrs. D. New-- man and her husband of St. Catharines were at home also On Saturday evening, Mrs. Reta Boe accompanied Mr. and Mrs. G. Wanamaker to Bowmanville for a special Call Peter Hvidsten at the Oddfellows Hall. Mr. and Mrs. J, Botterill of Scarborough visited Mrs. Jean MacTaggart on Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cox- worth, Mr. and Mrs. Dane Coxworth and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Twiner of Markham were around during the week end. Misses Marilyn McMillan and Marie Raines returned from their holiday in the south on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Belair visited with Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Tay- lor on Sunday. Everyone is happy down at the home of P.C. Jim Fishley in Oshawa. It is a girl this time, a sister for Michael, Bill Barr's class of Sr. P.S. age managed an unusual program number at S.S. when five of them appeared at the front with some mysterious parcels. The girls presented table and the boys returned the birthday box repaired & freshly painted. The first to use it were Mrs. Ken Stur man and Morley Bruce.
