12 Persons At Painting Bee On the morning of May 30, 12 people gathered at the Head Memorial Church, Scu- gog, for a painting bee, one of the first major projects of the *Scugog Shores Museum. Under the capable leadership of Murray Reader and Char- lie Pavlick the painting ga- thered momentum and by . afternoon the number of wor- kers had grown to 14 with a couple of extra who turned up just to clean the grounds ahead of the painters, The weather turned warm and all were glad when a kindly neighbour across the way ar- rived with cold drinks. This was proven by their many fine exhibits of handicraft displayed in the Masonic Hall, Saturday. About 200 persons attended the craft show, enjoyed the displays as well as refreshments. The Star photographer shot a few pictures and at top left is Mrs. V. Sandison, Janetville who has collected buttons as far as New York to come up with quite an impressive display of several hundred.
