[3 To the Editor Port Perry Star Dear Sir: In your issue of 20th inst. there appears a letter from Mr. Larry Doble who quotes from a letter in your issue of 13th inst. as follows: "A large real estate Company, whose local agent is Larry Doble of Uxbridge, taking advantage of a loop-hole in the law governing sub-divis- RS ome EDITOR ions, accomplished etc. etc." Mr. Doble quite misunder- stands the plain meaning of that sentence when he says it gave him credit. Credit is given to the Company. The clause in which Mr. Doble's name appears is a subordinate clause, and could easily be omitted without disturbing the sense. We thank Mr. Doble, how- ever, for informing us as to where the credit is due, I would delve still deeper and say that the registration of the sub-division in question is due to a lawyer who was up-to-the minute in his knowledge of what transpired in legal circles last February. Wm. (Bill) Clark occurred on Mon. Aug. 3rd at Port Perry Nursing Home. He was in his 75th year. Son of the late Mr. & Mrs. John Clark, he was born in Mariposa Twp. and farmed on the 2nd Con. for over sixty years, and resided in Little Britain for the last six years. ' During World War I he went overseas with the arm. ed forces, on arrival in Eng. land he contacted that dread disease, Spinal Menigitis and was prevented from going to the front. He has always been a faithful member of the Royal Cdn. Legion, Branch 67, Lindsay, Ont. On his return from over- seas he' married Ombra Scott of Seagrave, who survives, two sons, Harvey of Barrie and Jack of Manchester were born of that union. One bro- ther George of Whitby, and two sisters, Lottie, Mrs. N. Moase and Ethel Mrs. Thos. Harding, both-of Little Bri- tain, Ont. CHARLES LESLIE GEER The death occurred sudden- ly as a result of a coronary of Charles Leslie Geer, R.R. 1, Port Perry, at the Cottage Hospital, Uxbridge, Ontario, on August 16, 1970. . Mr. Geer was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Geer. Born in Whitchurch Township on December 1st, 1902, he was married in York City, May 30, 1923, to Ruby Jones. Mr. Geer, a retired farmer had lived in Reach Township for 50 years and was a mem- ber of Epsom United Church. The deceased is survived by his wife and two sons, Earl of Port Perry and Harry of Reach Twp., one daughter Mrs. Allan Card (Norine), Reach Twp., 4 sisters, Erma (Mrs. Carson Watson) Ux- bridge, Ruby (Mrs. Ben Ross) Hamilton, Mildred (Mrs. Wal- ter Maindonald) Hamilton, Verna (Mrs. Gordon Smith) Uxbridge, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two brothers, Ivan and Ches- 1 ter predeceased him. Funeral service was held at Low & Low Funeral Home on August 19, 1970, with Mr. John Hopkins officiating. Pallbearers were: Don Card, Rob Card, Eric Benns, Mel Tendall, Bill Kendry, all grandsons of the deceased. - Flower bearers were: Gord Geer (grandson) Jack Hill, Gordon MacDonald, Earl Bal- lard and Herman Kerry.
