Newcatsle 4, Port Perry 3 - In Newcastle Thursday, 11th the Flamingos started out strong in the first period with a two goal lead. The goals came from Dan McCartney with Dave Bourgeois and Bob Young assisting and Dave Bourge- ois with Danny McCartney assisting.., The boys skated well in this period outshoot- ing Newcastle seven to three and with -only one penalty going to Gary Le- fort. } 'In the second period New- castle took over with two quick goals from G. Garry unasssited and Bob Russell unassisted. The Flamingos managed to go ahead again three to two by Bob Young "scoring with a few seconds to go in the period. New- - castle outshot Port in this peried nine to two and the boys had 'two penalties, Bourgeois and Young. In the third period it was all Newcastle with them 'outshooting the boys nine to six and scoring two goals from Rob Winter, assisted by Bob Russell and Ken Parthodge assisted by Darel Barrett to win the game four to three. -. * * Sunderland 2, Port Perry 6 In Port Perry on Sunday Nov. 14th this game started Hornets defeat lixbridge 4-1 "Friday night Grant Men- zies Hornets travelled to * Uxbridge and after a slow start and Uxbridge getting the first goal the Hornets got their first: goal with Van Camp scoring with the assist going to McCoy. The second period McCoy scored with Van Camp as. sisting, then Henke scored with Evans assisting, The third period was scoreless with both teams picking up very cheap pen: alties as the referees called a very close game. These will be a flat plastic disc, 1/16" in thick- ness. -Ontario Amateur Bedaiiion Port Perry Midgets defeat Stouffville Wednesday, November 10, the Midget B's hosted to Stouffville and came out with a well deserved 4 - 2 Victory. First period broke open for Port with one goal by Faux with assists going to Tom- chiskin and Bronson. The second period showed more action wher Stouffville came back with Spoodue and Howsam getting two goals to put Stouffville ahead 2 - 1. Port came right when Faux assisted by Knight tied the game up 2 - 2. With a lot of action coming from Stouffvil the third period, good goal tending irom Rick Best allowed Port two goals. Senior volleyball team : makes creditable showing At the All Ontario Volleyball Tournament held in Belleville Saturday, the Port Perry High School ™ Senior Boys placed in the top six out of 28 competing high schools. Girls' team high scorers Last Thursday night the girls played a game against Little Britain Jet Sets, in their second encounter. The Port girls defeated Little Britain by the score of 3-1. On Sunday the 14th the Port Girls took on Wood- ville and came home with quite a decisive win 17-1. 5 Lina led the scoring with 7. Carol Bond, Kim Neil, and Wendy Partner each scored 2. Terry Franssen, Debbie McNeil, Lynda Heayn each scored 1. This Thursday night the girls again will play the Woodville © team. time 9:00 p.m: Game Considering the - tough competition from Toronto and -Ottawa teams, Coach Arend Dekker feels that the Seniors made more than just a credible showing for themselves. In the first of five games, Port Perry lost to last year's - tournament winners from Ottawa, by a score of 15 - 13. In the second game, Port Perry defeated a team from Hamilton 15 - 10. Port Perry's third game is described as being perhaps the most exciting of the tournament, and certainly providing some of the best volleyball. The Seniors eventually lost this game by an overlime score of 16-14 to Toronto's Royal York Collegiate. : -Port Perry's other two games included a 15-9 vie tory over Clinton, and a 15- 13 loss to Wallaceburg.
