Prayer was led by Alice Dodd and the original Christmas story from the Bible was read by Jane Litt. Alice Dodd read a story written by Dr. McLure from the Observer and Lois Smith closed the program by a reading on the customs of Christmas. News "Operator Chrarlie Brown" "a 'week - ago the chances of our completing the figures and decorations for our float were very dim. However, assisted by our Lady Volunteers . and members of the staff, the float was completed in good time for = Saturday's Christmas Parade. To our way of thinking, this was as good a float as we ever turned 'out and whether or , not we are among the prize winners, it was a lot of fun and we are sure the many children who saw the parade enjoyed Charlie Brown, Snoopy and his other friends immensely. Many thanks to 'Dr. Allin for driving the float, Mr. Morrow for loaning us his tractor and Mr. Jeffrey of Prince Albert for. providing the wagon. Congratulations are in order for Mr. Fred Duffield -who celebrated his 82nd birthday on December 7th. "Duffy,'"' as. he is af- fectionately known to the residents spent a very happy Sunday with his relatives in Oshawa. While talking of birthdays, we notice that another resident, Mr. Les Graham will celebrate his 90th on Friday, December" 17th. Many hapny returns of the day, Les Mrs. Barbara Heard; for many months a resident here moved Friday to Hillsdale Manor in Oshawa. We wish her, every happiness in her new surroundings. Here and There -- Rev. Wm. Black conducted a well attended church service in the Home last evening, December 14th, Tonight the Port Perry Junior Farmers Association will be here to sing Christmas Carols. The annual Christmas Party for the Home Staff will be held this year on December 17th. It will take the form of a dinner and dance at the Club Annrene. We wish everybody a very happy evening. KEN P.
