Battery Department informed him he would be receiving an award for suggesting an improvement to front. seat belts in station wagons, Ken: submitted his idea last fall and it has been applied to production in Canada and the United States. At that time, Ken was working in the Final Trim and Hardware Department. But it was nof until the actual cheque presentation on Monday morning that Ken learned his suggestion was - worth the maximum $10,000. What will-he do with the windfall? His wife Ginny said in a later interview that they have plans to buy a house. Ken has worked at G.M. for nine years, and received a small"amount of money for a suggestion he made sev- cral years ago. . While making the present- ation, G.M. President John Baker said this is the second Maximum Award made in the last two months, and the ninth made since the award was raised to $10,000 in 1968.
