Sundridge lead 3 - 1 after forty minutes. Early in the third period, Stu Cochrane scored to pull Port Perry to within one goal. This was short-lived as Sundridge scored a power-play goal and another on a breakaway. The final goal was scored with 'the Port Perry goalie out of the nets in favour of an extra attacker. The game was hard' fought, with plenty of fast skating, and some clean, solid "hitting. There were only four penalities called in the game. Coach Don Hurst said the game could have gone either 'way, and it was simply the "breaks" that decided the eventual out- come. : He said after the game, the team was "pretty disappoin- ted, but they took it well." Mr. Hurst had some high words of praise for the entire team, I couldn't say a bad word about any.of them." Although now out of the competition, the team record indicates a highly successful season. Out of 43 games, the ~ boys lost only four times, and tied three, including playoffs and exhibition games.
