Motors Bantams played two . games against Kincardine over the weekend, This is a best of five series to decide the O.M.H.A. Bantam C. Championship. Port Bantams travelled to Kincardine on March 24 and lost the game 6 - 5 in overtime. Gordy Scott léd the way for Port with two goals. Singles went to John Scott, Tom Olson and Jim. Pheonix. John Scott scored with only 15 seconds remaining in regulation time to force the overtime. Doug Christie had three assists in this game with Dave Horton picking up one. The Beare Bantams were determined to even the series at home on Sunday, March 26 and didsoby a 6-2 score. Doug Christie exploded for four goals to pace the attack with singles going to Rob Abraham and Gord Scott. Gord Scott also had two assists with singles going to . g Jamie Malcolm, Jim Pheonix, Dave Horton and Phil Cochrane. The next game will be played in Kincardine on Friday, March 31 at 8:00 with the fourth game in Port Perry on Sunday, April 2 at . 3:00. Senior basketball team season at All-Ontario Championship Port Perry Senior Boys Basketball team wound up a highly successful season with participation in the --.All-Ontario Golden Ball Tournament held recently in London. Competing aginst the best basketball teams from high schools across Ontario, the Seniors won one of three games at the London playdowns. In the CH wl Port Perry came up against © Windor Brennan, a powerful team that was to become the eventual Tournament win- ner. Port Perry stayed with Windsor throughout the first half, and at the end of thirty minutes the score was tied 27 - 27. In the second half strong bench strength proved to be - the difference with Windsor pulling ahead to win the game 85 - 55. Jim Zoet was top scorer for Port Perry with 20 points, followed: by Laurie Williams with 19, and Don Sinclair with 10. After the first loss, Port Perry came back to nip Thunder. Bay 52 - 50, and in doing so became the first Georgian Bay Secondary School Association team to win a game at the all-Ontario playdowns in 20 years. Again, Jim Zoet was top scorer for Port Perry with 18 'points. "Port Perry's third game was against Sault Ste. Marie St. Mary's, and the final score was 75 - 71.in favour of the Sault team, Some erratic shooting and too many turnovers were the diff- erence, according to coach Arend Dekker. Despite the loss, Jim Zoet gained some personal honours as his 45 points in this game were the highest number scored by any play- er in any of the tournament games. Jim was further honoured by being selected to the All-Ontario Basketball all-star team.
