Whitby opened the scoring at the 16.58 mark of the 1st period on a three way passing play Tom McLeish from Bob Mowat and Les Spanger. Bob Mowat tallied unassisted at the 7,06 mark of the 1st period from a mix up in front of the net. Flamingos being guilty of sloppy clearing. then Mowat came right back at 5.53 mark to pot another goal set up by Tom McLeish. With 3.18 left in the 1st period the Flamingos scored their first goal when Rob Webster took a pass from Jerry West and beat the goalie on a low drive from the point. Whitby outshot Flamings 20 - 13 to end the period. The second period Whitby again, scored three quick goals before Port answered. Scoring for Whitby were Al Barton from Bob Creig and Russ Sorichetti, time 17.26. Brian Grubb from Mike Rowley and Don Nicholson, time 15.45, Tom McLeish from Bob Mowat, time 11.42. At 11.49 Don Waldinsburger was replaced by Jim McFadden in net for Port Perry. Jim made quite a few TIT) ON TARGET EVERY TIME dazzling saves before the Flamingos tallied at 6.16 mark, Dave Bourgeois from Bob St. John and Harold Fair, Whitby outshot the Flamingos 20-19 to the second period. The third period went scoreless until. Whitby's Doug Wood assisted by Brian Miller scored with 4.41 left in the third period. Flamingos bounced right back at the 3.48 mark Dan McCartney tip- ping in a shot by Harold Fair. Shots on goal in the 3rd period, Whitby 17, Port 15.
