Whitby opened the scoring at the 16.58 mark of the 1st period on a three way passing play Tom McLeish from Bob Mowat and Les Spanger. Bob Mowat tallied unassisted at the 7,06 mark of the 1st period from a mix up in front of the net. Flamingos being guilty of sloppy clearing. then Mowat came right back at 5.53 mark to pot another goal set up by Tom McLeish. With 3.18 left in the 1st period the Flamingos scored their first goal when Rob Webster took a pass from Jerry West and beat the goalie on a low drive from the point. Whitby outshot Flamings 20 - 13 to end the period. The second period Whitby again, scored three quick goals before Port answered.
