Television commentator and educator Miss Kay Sigurjonsson will speak on Women's Affairs. The topic will be "*Concerns for Cand dian Women". Kay Sigurjonsson grew up in Manitoba and in Sudbury, Ontario. She holds a Bache- lor of Arts degree and a Rachelor of Paedagogy de- gree from the University of Manitoba. and did graduate work in English at the University of Toronto. She taught secondary school in Quebec, Vancouver and Winnipeg and worked in public relations for the University of Toronto Press before joining the staff of the Federation of Women Teachers' Associations of Ontario. Miss Sigurjonsson has worked extensively in tele- vision, including three sea- sons as co-host of the CBC's flagship public affairs pro- gramme 'Weekend'. He said there should. . be more time to plan it and it should be supervised by "responsible" community agencies such as the board of education or the YMCA. He said there was prac- tically no time to plan its activities last year because the board wasn't notified the - project would go ahead until near the end of -the school year. 'w Two SOLE. units were operated in Ontario County this year--one at Uxbridge High School and the other the former Dunbarton Public School. Each were supplied with a $3,000 grant from the®, ministry of community and social services. z The Uxbridge project spent for weeks research- ing the Uxbridge area from an historical and geographi- cal viewpoint. The documentation of the project's findings will go to teachers to use in classes. The Dunbarton unit de- voted energies to arts and crafts, a study of science kits used by the schools and visiting points of interest like the Science Centre and Ontario Place in Toronto. THOMAS Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Edward Thomas were re- cently joined in marriage by the Rev. W. Mark Reeves in Prince Albert United Church, Prince Albert, Ont. on Friday, November 3, 1972. The bride, the former Patricia Diane Nott is the daughter of Mrs. Lillian Nott, Prince Albert, Ontario. The bridegroom's parents are 'Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thomas, R.R. No. 4, Port Perry, Ontario. The bride was given In marriage by her brother Mr. Ken Nott. Miss Diane Fane, friend of the bride, was maid of honour. The best man was Mr. Thomas Leal Adderley, Yellow Knife, NW.T. Following a reception at Prince Albert Community Hall catered by the P.A. 4H Club, the couple left for their honeymoon. The floral ar- rangement was provided by Port Perry Florist. The couple will reside in - Greenbank, Ontario.
