We have heard however that John Doupe has made much progress and will be back to the Nursing Home very shortly. We had no religious ser- vice week due to the Hydro "Blackout. We missed the service very much and are. hoping that Rev. William Black will be able to give us another date in the near future. Incidentally, we want to thank Miss Nancy Wanamaker and Mrs. Jessie Slater for their thoughtful- ness in bringing candles over the the Home during the "Blackout". We had a very good Bingo on Thursday evening. Prizes were won by Mrs. Balque (2), Mrs. Clarke (2), John Kelly, Wentworth Watson and Jim Bell. Many thanks to Shaw Hamilton for provi- ding a new set of Bingo equipment for our use; also to the volunteers for donat- ing prizes. Congratulations to Mr. Grant Christie who - cele- brated his 89th birthday on the 23rd November. His friends and relatives threw a big party to honour the occasion. Musical week in Canada was recognized at the Home on Friday evening when the pupils of 'Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Wallace and Mrs. Ken gave a musical recital. The pupils who entertained us on the piano were: Mark, Sharon, Kim and Allan Deandrade; Paul, David and Margaret Litt; Debbie Crozier, Laurel Holt- by, Patti Vernon; Beverle Balder, Terry Morrow, Kelly St. John, Leanne Kerr, Joyce Mulder, Bonnie Short, Scott Nelson, Julie Brierly, Cheryl Snodden, Cathy Keuning and Carol Sonley. One of Mrs. Taylor's pupils sang two songs: "Try to Remember" and "I Believe". The mothers of the students provided a delightful assort- ment of homemade sweets which were enjoyed by all at an informal hour following the concert. Many thanks for -.the treats.
