Writers seemed thoroughly steamed up and even our harmless Bill was Hospital patient Roy Scott is still a patient in Port Perry Memorial and another Mrs. Cyril White has already spent one week there. She is a very sick woman. We are sorry to have to report two deaths. Former resident Mrs. Lou Short, (lately of Brooklin) passed away last week. The funeral was in Sunderland and was attended by friends and relatives from this district. Monday morning brought TRAVEL NONG us news that Bruce Carr's - mother, Mrs. Ganton Carr, had died in Lindsay hospital. The funeral will be from the Stoddart Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon. We offer sympathy to both these families. Movers last week were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Norwick and family who deserted the Cliff Harper farm in favour of the Thos Druen place near Sun Valley. Mrs. Reta Boe, back from the south is receiving callers again. On Saturday her son Carl and family from Kingston visited there. Misses Connie and. Krista Carr spent the weekend with Grandpa and Grandma Smith in Eden. Mr. Ken Short had her usual holiday in Toronto this week. We start off with the Stewards having work bees on Monday and Tues- day to prepare the church basement for painting. On Thursday the "come-as- you-are"' luncheon for ladies takes place. On Saturday there is the Couch sale and for next week we hear of farewells, showers etc eom- ing up. After a few bad moments Rev. Critch found the church attendance awards and presented them to deserving youngsters at morning church service. There were fewer given out this year, partly because a number of the regulars had graduated to" higher classes and of course some just hadn't ili Church Prince Albert 4-H Club News Meeting 4 Meeting No. 4 of the Prince Albert Pals was held March 24 at the Community Centre. The meeting came to order and the Lord's Prayer was repeated. Each girl answe-. red the roll call "One idea for a club demonstration -at Achievement Day." The minutes were read by Marie Holtby. On April 24, we will have our fashion show. There will be supper at $1.00 per plate and the modeling of gar- ments following. The next meeting will be held March 31 at Mrs. Pugh's home. Our record books should be handed in on the 20th of April. The home assignment was taken up. Mrs. Pugh helped some of the girls with "fitting" and Mrs. Soloman gave a tried. The recipients were Carol and Mark Sturman, Cathy and Karen Carr, Raymond and Joanne Nobbs, Tommy and Debbie Newham, Bill Short and Janet Abraham. Each girl made up an invitation to invite the mothers to our fashion show and supper on April 29. Mrs. Pugh then explained how to make a belt, and buttonholes from the Mem- ber's Pamphlet. A dem- onstration of sewing on a button followed as each girl tried this. The home assign- ment was read and the meeting closed with the 4-H pledge.
