Port Perry Rod & Gun Club hosts Trent Handgun Assoc. by Gerald Jackman Port Perry Pistol shooters were hosts to the Trent Handgun * Assc. for the second handicap shoot, on April 8th, 1973. Lack of proper range facilities in Port Perry made it neces- sary to hold this shoot-in the Peterborough Pistol & Rev- olver Club range. The shoot was well at- tended by 30 shooters from Cambellford Pistol Club, Peterborough Pistol & Re- volver Club, Lower Trent Valley Pistol Club (Frank- ford) & Port Perry Rod & Gun Club. Third place went to Bill White of Peterborough, with a score of 248. Charlie Harper & Wayne Burkett of Port Perry both turned in a very respectable score of 297. With more shoots coming up these two shooters should be able to raise their scores those extra three points. Refreshments were served by Port Perry Rod & Gun Club. Another group of rifle shooters in Port Perry to be congratulated are the Sea Cadets. Greenbank News continued Lillian Reesor and child- ren visited with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Art Couves on Saturday. The Card Party in Green- bank Hall was well atended on Friday night. Prizes were won by Mrs. Archie 1st, Mrs. Third 2nd, MrsT G. Rahm consolation. For the Gents Ralph Sommerville 1st, Geo. Rahm 2nd, Mr. F. Innis consolation Door Prize went to Mrs. F. Innis. The work was not in vain because Mark Sturman from Sea- - - grave brought home a first place trophy for best All Round Car and Roddy Real won second place in the same category. Here they were given the much heavier No. 7 Lee Enfeild .22 rifles. They did not win this match, but the scores were close enough to be interesting. Now that they have their own No. 7 Lee Enfeild riles, they will be able to prove what good coaching and determination of a shooting team can do.
