The township built a new fence 10 feet back of the road allowance. In return Mr. Fralick offered to give the ten feet to Scugog-free. Morris Fralick showed up at the last council meeting to ask what should be done with the deed. The reeve suggested that he have a lawyer draw up.a deed, at the donor's expense, then give it to council Now Mr. Fralick did not mind giving his township a gift, but he was not anxious slawyer. of deed on donated land to make any presents to a He suggested that council pay to have the deed drawn up any way it wanted and he 'would sign the do- cument. Reeve Crowell insisted that the donor pay the lawyer, Mr. Fralick in- sisted "that he would not, and the whole deal was almost lost. 'As I see it," commented Morris Fralick, Your fence is infringing on my pro- perty.' The reeve promptly re- considered the facts and decided that the township would pay half and Mr. Fralick would pay half of the lawyer's fee. Both sides agreed and now they all live "happily on Scugog Island. 'Museum opening Attracts 200 people Scugog Shores Museum opened on Sunday, May 20 with about 200 visitors. There have since been another 50 so that atten- dance is now well above that of last year when there were 1,800 visitors in the season. A big difference has been the opening of the Lee House on the museum grounds. The two rooms decorated this year by the museum staff have been praised by all visitors. The house has been restored to a turn of the century decor, although the house itself was built in 1860. As older display artifacts become available, the period of the house will be ante-dated. Mrs. Jean Vidwell the vice-president of the Lake Scugog Historical Society welcome guests and pro- claimed the Lee House open. Guests on the first tour were the men who had ridden the house on its move from Greenbank a year ago. Six cars from the Oshawa and Bowmanville Antique Car Club added an interest- ing dimension to the after- noon. It is hoped that they will return again-later this year. This year's displays in the museum itself are perhaps the most interes- ting that they have ever been. A display of wedding dresses each accompanied by appropriate gifts for periods ranging from 1874 to the present. One of the most Beare Motors Ltd.
