Many ladies from this area attended the Kinette House Tour in Port Perry on Wednesday afternoon and enjoyed this event very much. So sorry to report that Mr. John Venning is still ill in Oshawa Hospital. Miss Muriel Bryant of Oshawa spent the week with her brother, Mr. and Mrs. George Bryant and family. Mr. and Mrs. Rob Mairs moved into Martyn's apart- ments recently. Welcome Rob and Carol. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Essery of Oshawa have moved into Mrs. Byers house over the weekend. We welcome Ray and Sharon to the com- munity. Miss Eva Parr passed away in Port Perry Hospital on Monday. The funeral services for this respected senior citizen of Blackstock was held on Wednesday afternoon. Traffic conditions on Highway 7A Sunday evening were unbelievable with solid WRESTLING traffic from Blackstock cut-off to Port Perry much of the time standing still for hours. Certainly must have tried the patience of all the motorists caught in it. Miss Noretta Mitchell, Woodstock, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Dixon and baby Suz- anne of London. spent Sat- urday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kelly and girls enroute to Mosport. Sunday evening callers of the Kelly's were Mr. and Mrs. John Medland, Brook- lin. Mr. and Mrs. George Bryant, Dwayne and Julie were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Carnochan and Leslie. In the St. John's Anglican Church the sacrament of Baptism was administered by Rev. R. They all enjoyed a tour of Harvey Graham's which was a highlight in the day of the city children. Every weekend the John- son's have had company from Toronto and all their city friends just love the Blackstock area. Congratulations to Diane Taylor who has successfully completed, her year at Althouse College, London and has accepted a position on the English, Business and Commerce Department at Preston High School. The first Flea Market held in the Blackstock Arena by the Blackstock Women's Institute under the convership of Mrs. Muriel Hoskin on Friday evening was very successful. There were twenty-three stalls with all types and sorts of commodities being sold. Convocation Exercises at Trent University at Peter- borough on Friday held special interest to several Cartwright families.
