Health Dept. inspects Puppy's 'Council took no action on a request from the operator of Puppy's hot dog stand in Palmer Park for water service. The operator atten- ded the May 28 meeting of Port Perry council and ex- plained ' that he needed water in order to meet Health Dept. Fegulations. He said the Dept. has given "him six weeks to comply with orders. The health department had been called to inspect Chamber of Commerce which wants the stand closed because it competes with restaurants jn the area. ' The Chamber has asked council to move, the hot dog stand off the town owned land in the park. Although council did not make any official decision Reeve Kenny expressed his personal opinion that, "I thought that you should be able to stay there this year." } It was explained to coun- cil that more than a thou- sand dollars was spent last season moving the stand at councils request. "I'd like to get some of that money back before I have to move again," the operator said. He promised that if he is given water and permitted to stay one more season he will close up his stand for good in the fall and submit a bid on a refreshment booth being built in the new building at the ball park. "If you do that I will move Donald Milne of Port Perrv Libby's Tropi. Cal FRUIT 32 oz. bottle 29° the hot dog stand by the in the fall," he promised.
