We are pleased that Mr. James Boxall who is 87 years old is feeling fine after a recent appendec- tomy in Uxbridge hospital. A special meeting of the Carwtwright ~~ Council at Blackstock was held June 12, 1973. The major issue was the the passing of a By-Law to borrow $25,000 from the Federal-Provincial Capital Projects Fund. The application for the loan was made to the Treasurer of Ontario to assist in financing the pro- ject of constructing the "Nestleton Community Centre." Another issue concerned the new boundaries for the new Region of Durham. A motion was passed to send a letter to Robert Nixon and a copy to John White rec- ; Will borrow $25,000 ommending that the govern ment freeze Capital expen- ditures at the County level for the counties being split up by the institution of the new region of Durham. A letter was received by the Clerk concerning con- ditions for the re-newal of the certificate for the Land- fill site, Lot 12, Con. 4 of Cartwright. The township is complying with the Min- istry's regulations by ceas- ing all burning and by sup- plying loads of fill to the dump site to allow frequent push-back. Another resolution was carried that Cartwright Council support the motion RAAB, FORT PERRY STAR -- Wednedday, uly 4, 1973 ~ 7 of the Corporation of the Town of Oakville urging the Province of Ontario to amend the Dog Tax and Livestock and Poultry Protection Act to allow a ticket system for dogs at large offences, such as presently applies to parking offences.
