(b) CONTENTS Where in this by-law a planting strip ° is required on a lot, such lot shall not be used for any use otherwise permitted by this by-law and no building shall be occupied unless and until a planting strip shall consist of .a row of trees or a continuous un- pierced hedgerow of evergreens of shrubs, not less than 5 feet high, immediately adjacent to the lot line or portion thereof along which such planting strip is required hereunder, the remainder of the strip shall be planted with shrubs, flower beds or combination thereof. 2N (c) LOCATION AND MAINTENANCE A planting strip shall be located on lots within the zone requiring it. It shall be planted, nurtured and maintained by the owner, and/or 'owners of the lot on which the strip is located. (d) DRIVEWAYS In all cases where ingress and egress driveways extend through a planting strip, it shall be permissible to inter- rupt the strip within 10 feet of the edge of such driveway. (e) LANDSCAPED OPEN SPACE A planting strip referred to in this subsection may form part of any required landscaped open space. (xii) Parking, Accessory Building, ete. In accordance with the provisions of Section 4. (xiii) Any development must be in accord- ance with an approved site plan. } (xiv) Where any lot can be developed in asso ciation with adjoining properties and with common access the foregoing provisions of Section 7 (2) (i to xii) shall not apply." 2. The provisions of Schedule "A" relating to C2 (High- way Commercial) Zones be and are hereby repealed. 3. This by-law shall come into force on the date it is passed by the Council of the Town of Whitby subject to the approval of the Ontario Municipal Board. The stu- dents will be seeing three more plays there this year. On Friday, Nov. 2 the Sadie Hawkins Dance will be held at the Recreation Centre in Blackstock. The group "Creed" from King- ston will be playing and the dance is expected to be a great success.
