Secrecy led "to story error Last week the STAR in- correctly reported that a community centre was being "renovated" in Nestleton. It has been brought to our attention that a completely new centre is being built, and our reference to renovations was incorrect. We had a reporter at the Cartwright council meeting where tenders for the work were opened. Since council did not specify exactly what it intended to spend $65,000 on, our reporter asked. He was told it was for the community centre in Nestle- ton. When he pressed for more details council refused to give them. We sometimes wonder if it would be easier for us to get Watergate tapes from U.S. President Richard Nixon than it is for us to get the time of day from certain members of Cartwright council. We look forward to the day when the press is allowed access to complete details on such projects and errors such as the one we made last week are no longer necessary.
