The arrival of Santa at the Port Perry Rotary Club annual Christmas Dinner for area seniors always causes excitement. Above, Barb Martin and Karen Richardson get a big hug from Santa during his visit to the hall. Photo by J. Peter Hvidsten (file photo 2002) Christmas is one of the favourite times of the year for members of the Port Perry Rotary Club. It’s at this time they get to deliver Christmas cheer and nourishment to more than 200 of Scugog’s seniors and shut-ins. The Rotary’s annual Christmas Dinner, which has been a tradi- tion in town for more than a decade, gives club members a chance to mingle and chat with some of the township’s wonderful sen- iors. This year, club members cooked up a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and supplied entertainment as well. Of course a Christmas dinner wouldn’t be complete without a visit from Santa, who mingled among his throng of admirers, going table to table dropping off a little treat for each of the par- ticipants. The Rotary Christmas Dinner took place on Nov. 28, at the Scugog Community Centre.
