Seagrave and area news Was it only about 6 months ago that they had us so dis- turbed about fuel shortage and rising gasoline prices? After seeing the thousands of cars on our road this week end. we might well ask "What shortages?" Our sick list isn't so grue- some this week. As of Sun- day night Roy Scott is re- ported as much improved. He just might get home in * time to vote yet. Joyce Bruce had her little turn in hospital and got rid of some doubtful tonsils but is home again now. Our only other casualty, so far as we know, is Mrs. Hunter who is limping a bit after steping on a nail. Several of our families were involved in Weddings this week end. On Friday evening Det. Dennis Tobin and Mrs. Sharon Barron, both of Oshawa were married in King St United Church, Oshawa. Mr. and Mrs. John Tobin and Mr. and Mrs. Reg Abraham were guests and attended the reception at Woodview Park Club house. On Saturday Mrs. Reta Boe attended the marriage of her granddaughter Miss Jill Dowson to Mr. Bernard McEnaney in Port Perry United Church. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Boe and sons of King- ston were also guests and remained to spend the week end with Mrs. Boe. Also on Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Les Third were in Agin- court helping Mr.a nd Mrs. Wm. Watson celebrate their wedding but this time it was the 50th. Mr. and Mrs. Third were delighted to have a visit on Thursday from their son and his wife, Mr.a nd Mrs. Geo. Third, of Calgary, Alta. Glen Elgin Park in Ux- bridge was the scene of a rather dampish Wray picnic on Sunday. Mrs. Phyllis Wray, Miss Ida Wray and Mr. Bill Wray were there with about 50 other Wrays. On July 1, Mrs. Wray enter- tained Mrs. F. Bonneau and Mr. A. Lavoie from Rober- val, Que. as well as her son Allan and Miss Ginette Gag- non of Toronto. Sunday visitors with Mr.a nd Mrs. Venner were Mr.a nd Mrs. Dave Newman and their daughter from Ome- mee and Mr. Emmeerson Chant of Oshawa. We noticed Mrs. Nodwell out walking with her grand- daughter so suppose the Hilbert family of Hamilton were at home again this week end. Miss Miriam Christie from near town was the guest of Catherine Nickolls this week. IF YOUVE NEVER TRIED US THEN WEVE BOTH LOST," WE" YOUR BUSINESS THOMSON Heating & Air Conditioning 985-3365 Gordon Short had a guest too b ut he was shy about giving introductions. Miss Marilyn McMillan spent the holiday with her mother Mrs. Aileen Mec- Millan. The B. Wanamaker com- pany was strictly family this time -- Ron's from Oshawa and Bill's from Toronto. The Neil Wanamaker family was in Toronto on Friday night to visit Mr. and Mrs. Ian Fraser and to get a look at the Fraser's new son. Neil and Donna were very busy entertaining the ball club on Sunday. Another young chap has disappeared for the summer. Iarl Barr is now in the west and working on a pig farm. The fairly - new Morley Bruce house on Concession 12 is now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Milton Steeves lately of Port Perry. Summer church services are usually poorly atten- ded and ours on Sunday was no exception. Mr. Roundell was in charge and conducted the communion service assisted by elders Keith Puckrin and Bruce Carr. "At S. S. Raymond Nobbs, Annette Foster and Marilyn Beacock came forward with their pennies.
