Monday was our Greenthumb Day, Tuesday was Indian Day and Thurs- day will be our Pet Show for the children's favourite stuf- fed animals. Thanks goes to Barry and Leanne VanCamp for bring- ing their two goslings and duck to Playground last week. We are having another special little visitor on Wed- nesday. Also we would like to thank Janis Dorrell for com- ing to talk to us on Swimm- ing Safety. If you want to join the fun at playground-it is still not too late to come. We all seem to be having fun. Janice Crawford Semor Citizens' Card Par- ty on Tuesday evening had the following winners-Ladies High-Mrs. Eunice Ego, Sec- ond-Mrs. Ida Samells, Third- Mrs. Irene Cox; Men's High- Mrs. Edith Anderson, Sec- ond-Mr. Russell Larmer, Third-Mr. Russell Coates. Lucky Draw-Mrs. Olive Mc- Kee. Mrs. Alma Taylor has been moved to St. John's Convalescence Hospital in Toronto where she continued to recover from hip surgery. Our best wishes go to you Mrs. Taylor. Mr. A. Graham is showing improvement also in Toronto Hospital. His many friends are hoping for his continued progress. Miss Christine McMenemy of Oshawa is spending a few days with her cousins, Eliza- beth, Eleanor, Elaine and Esther Kelly. Mr. and Mrs. Cave Walker of Ericson, Manitoba were weekend guests of her grand- mother Mrs. J.A. Johnston. A fine number of the McLaughlin clan from near and far gathered at the Cartwright Park at Caesa- rea for their annual picnic and get to-gether. The after- noon was spent by swim- ming. games and visiting under the guidance of Mrs. Byrd of Peterborough. A delicious picnic supper was enjoyed by all. The incoming President will be Mrs. Powles. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kelly and girls were weekend guests of his parents Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Kelly, Bobcay- geon and also attended the picnic at Marg Pellow's. Miss Diane Ormiston, and district Brooklin is spending some holidays with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Bryant and amily. Dr. and Mrs. Douglas Bil- by, Los Vegas, Nevada have spent several days visit with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wright enroute to Romania where they are going for a two months study period. It was obvious to all that Mrs. D'Andrade has made many friends who will miss her here as they wished her the best in the future. We had a Polling Booth at the Nursing Home on Mon- day for the residents and people living in the district. Coffee was served. : The pastor of the Baptist Church, Mr. Payne held a . church service on Tuesday evening. We had a large turn out of residents. He showed some pictures of his travel in Britain, especially the Stone Henge in Salsbury and West- minster Abbey. He was ass- isted by Mr. and Mrs. Hook- er. They recalled old mem- ories of some of the resi- dents. There was a presentation on Wednesday for Mrs. D'Andrade who has left to join her husband in Renfrew. We had our usual bingo game on Thursday evening. The winners were Mr. G. Christie 3, Mr. J. Doupe 2, Mrs. Clarke and Mrs. Pearcy. Mrs. Weir, the Physiother- apist was here Friday to give treatments to some of the residents. Our new nursing home is : now under way. We expect there will be many residents ' overseeing the job to make sure they make no mistakes. --
